Originally from Ventura, CA, Rhett grew up tagging along to open houses and sales meetings with his mom, who was a top producer in the area. Now he’s honing his own real estate craft in the Pacific Northwest.

Describing himself as disciplined, ambitious, caring, and analytical, he admits to always having been obsessed with homes. “From the aesthetics of great design to the emotional impact of having your own space to call home…they’re reflections of where we’ve been, who we are, and what we aspire to be.”

Rhett graduated from Pepperdine University with a degree in integrated marketing and communications. “I initially went there to play basketball, but after an injury, I pursued entrepreneurship instead. I got my real estate license on my 20th birthday and started out as a licensed assistant to the top broker in Malibu.”

At the same time, he started a motivational brand on Instagram that hit 100k followers in nine months. The broker, in turn, invited him to take over running his social media platforms and referred him to his market leaders group for the same assistance. In partnership with his wife, Emily, Rhett has worked with many of the top agents in the country over the last decade running their social media marketing campaigns. Now Emily has completely taken over that business while Rhett has turned his attention to work as a full-time broker.

He sees his role as a real estate agent similar to that of a sherpa, guiding people up and down the tumultuous mountain that is a real estate transaction. “I believe my skills in communication, sales, and marketing go a long way toward empowering my clients. From basic shelter to the heights of luxury, I take great pride and honor in being able to help people find their home.”

Rhett and Emily, along with their pit-mix, Roo, and a Norwegian Forest cat named Binty, live in the West Slope area of SW Portland. They love trying new restaurants all over the city, some favorites being Bamboo Sushi, Fireside, Matador, Grazza, Little Big Burger, and Pepino’s. “NW 23rd is one of our favorite places to hang out, shop, and find some yummy food.”

In his free time, Rhett loves lifting weights and discovering new parks where he can play a pickup game of basketball. He also coaches an eighth grade team through Lincoln HS. He finds time for his other love of making music and has even toured as a bass player in an R&B band. Fun fact: He once showed a home to the infamous American Idol judge, Simon Cowell. (No word as to whether the notoriously hard-to-please Cowell was impressed with the home.)
