Other great local breweries include MadCow Brewing Company Taproom, The Hoppy Brewer, Migration Brewing, and Level Beer.

As we mentioned, McMenamins Edgefield offers more than just excellent local brews on tap – Edgefield has a hotel, an outdoor concert venue where big names play year-round, and lots of green space to explore and relax.

For outer space lovers, check out Mt. Hood Community College Planetarium. This is a great spot for an exciting social outing or an exceptional date night.

And for family night, grab tickets for the latest feature film at Mt. Hood Theatre. This family-owned theater offers a homey atmosphere, a coffee shop, and lots of yummy concession options.

In and around Gresham, you will find dozens of opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors, including exploring the local parks. Oxbow Regional Park, Gresham Main City Park, Bella Vista Park, and Glenn Otto Community Park are among the city’s most dynamic and gorgeous green spaces in which to bike, walk, run, and play.

#7 - Art, History & Museums


If you plan on moving to the Gresham and Troutdale area, you will be amazed at how much local history exists here. Not only will you see and feel it for yourself, but you can visit the Gresham Historical Society and Museum to take a deep dive into the city’s past.

Be sure to check out other popular sites like the Zimmerman House Museum and Gardens, which features stunning local art exhibits and showcases, as well as classes and educational programs.

Downtown Gresham is a charming and eclectic historic district with walkable streets and a diverse mix of restaurants, bars, and shops. In addition to dozens of shops to explore and restaurants to try, lots of local events and gatherings take place here year-round. 

Kids will appreciate this downtown hangout in the summer, thanks to the Art Plaza Splash Pad that brings art and life to downtown, and is a fun way to cool down, too.

#9 - Transportation is a Breeze

Whether you bike, ride the bus, or take the Max transit line, getting around Gresham is a breeze. Living by Interstate 84 and U.S. Route 26 gives you easy access to downtown Portland and the Gateway to the Gorge.

Around town, the TriMet bus system and MAX Light Rail Line will get you wherever you need to go. And finally, bikers are in luck with a 40-mile loop at the Gresham Fairview Trail and Springwater Corridor.
