Tony Piff

Principal Broker in Oregon and Washington

Before getting licensed in 2017, Tony Piff earned his bachelor's in English at Washington University in St. Louis, was a welder on a Mississippi River salvage boat, spent ten years managing apartment buildings, had a home organization business, and worked as an editor at a Portland-based classic car magazine. He also swung a hammer professionally as a handyman and construction worker and has gut-renovated three vintage homes and an RV.

In 2021, Tony’s dazzling customer-satisfaction metrics earned him “Best of Zillow” distinction — an award reserved for the top 10% of agents nationwide.

His journalism background — questioning, listening, researching, and communicating — makes him a uniquely effective real estate agent. Tony loves problem-solving with his brain and hands and tools as much as he loves people. He delights in nitpicking a home’s maintenance history and upgrades, helping buyers understand the difference between “money pit,” “rehab candidate,” “preservation project,” and “truly move-in ready.”

When working with listings, Tony goes deep and gets hands-on. He understands that preparing to sell can feel overwhelming and personal, and he sees it as his job to understand his clients’ stresses and lead them forward with solutions, a plan, and helping out with the punch-list. He identifies the crucial and non-crucial preparation tasks that make a difference, saving his clients time and money and maxing out their homes’ appeal. He also maintains a data-driven, real-time view of the market, so sellers can have the most realistic expectation of their home’s value. And he does staging.

Tony fills his free time writing, watching R-rated movies with his kids, building metal toolboxes in his garage, bike touring, and finding new places to brew coffee outside.

"Tony made our experience as first time home buyers as seamless as it could be. Tony is a great listener, and was responsive and communicative throughout every step of the process. Tony has a great critical eye that is much needed when looking to buy a home. Tony has a lot of connections once we were in contract that allowed us to receive quotes in a very timely manner. It is very clear that Tony loves his job and is passionate about connecting with people, and supporting them in finding the right home. I would recommend anyone to work with Tony! "

"Tony was fantastic and I can't recommend him enough. As first-time homebuyers, my wife and I were nervous and needed to take our time and learn the process and the market. Tony always responded right away when we needed him, and he also gave us space when we needed it after we terminated our first contract. His knowledge of construction really shines during tours and he taught us so much we wouldn't have known about buying a home. We ended up finding a place we love and Tony was a huge part of that. "

"Tony was super knowledgeable. He looked at homes with a keen eye and was able to help point out things for us that might have been red flags. If we needed him to check something out he was right there. He was always super responsive, which was very helpful given our busy schedules. Another huge plus for us was that he always organized our showings to maximize efficiency, since we were coming from out of town. He was so giving of his time and really wanted to see us successful in this process. He was just an excellent realtor to have , I can’t say enough good things!"
