A deep thinker at heart, with an analytical mind and attention to detail, Kara is task-oriented and yet deeply focused on people, attentive to her clients' needs and quick to seek out equitable solutions. A Portland native, she went to school out of state, earning her degree in Dance and Philosophy at Loyola Marymount University and traveling for a while before settling back in the Portland area.

Her artistic background taught her great perseverance, an ability to find solutions and think outside the box, and to connect and communicate with people in a real and humble way. Real estate was something she began after she saw how home ownership changed the financial trajectory of her new little family. "It is truly a steppingstone to creating generational wealth and I wanted to share that with my community, especially artists especially artists trying to set down roots. I’ve been blessed with a deep and loving community of dance students, family, and art appreciators that were the first to trust me in being their realtor and from there it’s been a transformational journey of growth."

Why does Kara continue to work in the real estate sector nearly 10 years later? The answer is largely about helping people grow lasting security, wealth, and pride in ownership.

"I find purchasing a home one of the few places almost everyone 'hopes and dreams'. Even those in the midst of current trauma or heartbreak have a space to hope for something different when they purchase their next home. People get to reflect and decide what they truly want and then I get to guide them in making that dream come true!"

One dream she especially loves supporting is multigenerational living, where family that has decided to support each other can do that in a way that serves everyone and creates community.

"My daughter has Down Syndrome and I see the need in our community for housing solutions that honor both independence and family support - and I can help make that happen."

She and her husband make their home in Hillsboro with their 8-yr-old son and 6-yr-old daughter; a dog, an old cat, and a hamster round out the household. Her parents live next door and they enjoy the closeness of their little community. ""We enjoy going into nature, trying out local Farmer's Markets, shopping local, playing in splash pads and rivers, and Top Burmese where the robots serve us food! I’m also a sucker for historical home tours anywhere in the metro area."

Kara has an unquenchable zest for life. In addition to practicing herbalism and yoga therapeutics, she continues her love of dance "whenever possible", whether it's social dancing, a dance class in Portland, or teaching Latin dance at a local gym. If that wasn't enough, she is currently training for her first triathlon and loves all things health and fitness. "Music is my safe place, and nature is how I recharge." Kara can often be found volunteering at Gigis Playhouse Portland, where she's been helping them locate and open Oregon’s first Achievement Center for people with Down Syndrome.
